Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction

So far so good, seems like Slice of Life, friendships and the destruction of humanity

Demon Slayer S5

The Hashira Training Arc is all about pushing limits and unlocking hidden potential. Tanjiro and other promising Demon Slayers embark on an intense training regimen under the guidance of the Hashira. This rigorous training aims to elevate their skills and prepare them for the ultimate showdown against the demon king, Muzan Kibutsuji.

Go Go Loser Ranger

Forget those basic superhero squads, "Go! Go! Loser Ranger!" flips the script on the whole hero vs. villain thing, follow a low level villain who goes undercover with the supposedly righteous Dragon Keepers. Spoiler alert: They're kinda sus. You get epic fails, chaotic energy, as our underdog hero stumbles his way through a conspiracy. Plus the Outro K-popish dance routine is gold!

Kaiju No 8

Kaiju No. 8 is the ultimate glow-up story! Kafka, is stuck cleaning up monster guts for a living. Not exactly the dream job. But then, he gets infected with kaiju powers and becomes the very thing he used to clean up after. Now, he's balancing his normal life with secret missions to protect Japan from giant monsters. It's like "Attack on Titan" meets "The Office," . You'll be rooting for Kafka as he levels up his skills and faces off against some OP kaiju. Don't miss the Intro and Outro either!

KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! S3

DROPPED - This initially drew me in with its promise of comedic isekai escapades. While I appreciate a good parody, I found Kono Suba's humor too over-the-top and reliant on slapstick. The characters' constant yelling and exaggerated reactions quickly became grating. I tend to prefer anime comedies with more subtlety, similar to "One Punch Man," where the humor arises from unexpected situations and dry observations rather than constant screaming and physical gags. While KonoSuba clearly has its fans, the over-the-top style ultimately pushed me away.

Laid Back Camp S3

This does deserve it's high Rating. You learn about camping, in great detail. Great, if you've never done it, but if you have, watch for the Iyashikei vibes.

Mom, I'm Sorry

The anime initially presents itself as a lighthearted comedy with familiar themes, but quickly evolves into a compelling journey that transcends its predictable setup. While the premise hints at obvious sources of humor, the anime's true strength lies in its ability to weave genuine fun with deeply heartwarming moments. It skillfully explores the complexities of its unusual situation, delving into themes of guilt, resentment, sacrifice, and love with surprising depth. The evolving bond between mother and son forms the emotional core of the series, depicted with poignant rawness that resonates beyond the comedic elements. A persistent undercurrent of melancholy adds layers to the narrative, creating a nuanced viewing experience. Despite its humorous moments, the show isn't afraid to tackle serious emotional territory, hinting at potentially tragic developments. Even without knowledge of the source material, the anime's engaging storytelling and complex character dynamics make it a captivating watch. "Mom I'm Sorry" proves that even with a seemingly straightforward premise, skilled execution can deliver a rich, emotionally rewarding experience that keeps viewers invested in the journey.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S3

DROPPED - I've seen reviews of this show that describe it as great if you can get past the weirdness but its portrayal and acceptance of disturbing themes like pedophilia is a major turn-off

One Piece

Egghead Arc! The Straw Hats land on this futuristic island ruled by the genius scientist Dr. Vegapunk, who's basically the Tony Stark of this world. But plot twist! Turns out there are multiple Vegapunks running around, each with their own distinct personality. Meanwhile, the World Government is on their tail of course, and the island's secrets are starting to unravel.

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf

Spice and Wolf, an old favourite re-done and it's nailing it so far. A traveling merchant, Kraft Lawrence who teams up with a wolf goddess, Holo, disguised as a cute girl. They journey bonding over economics and folklore. It's wholesome, AND you learn a little bit about trading. It has a lovely "slice of life" feel with a little spice and intrigue mixed in. A wholesome and fun watch.

That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime - S3

Don't let the title fool you, this captivating watch .Slime has become a comfort watch, it has almost iyashikei vibes for me.#greatwatch

The Fable

The Fable is like if John Wick traded his guns for a grocery list. Follow the world's deadliest assassin who's forced to take a year off from killing and live a "normal" life. It's obviously not as easy as it sounds. Enjoy hilarious everyday and action-packed moments elevated by a stellar Japanese voice cast .

The Kings Avatar S3

If you have MMORPG gamed. I mean really got into it, Raids, PVP and everything that goes with years of campaigns, then this is your jam

Wind Breaker

DROPPED - While Wind Breaker has gained popularity, the "angry main character" trope feels like a missed opportunity. This aspect seems jarring, clashing with other facets of the main character's personality and actions. This trope, while common in some genres, often feels like a shortcut to create conflict or intensity.

Spring 2024

Classroom of the Elite S3

DROPPED - 1. Another class appears to have secured an unbeatable victory. 2. All hope seems lost for the protagonists. 3. The main character, with his exceptional intelligence, reveals he anticipated this outcome. 4. His secret preparations ensure everything resolves in their favor. 5. Rinse & Repeat

Delicious in Dungeon

DROPPED - I recognize that it has a dedicated following and that many people enjoy its unique blend of fantasy and culinary adventure. While I appreciate the cultural context, the repeated scenes of characters cooking and consuming creatures overshadowed other elements of the story for me. I'm glad others are finding something to enjoy in it, but it just wasn't for me.

Mashle: Magic And Muscles S2

DROPPED - I couldn't watch this, just too much Harry Potter??!

Ninja Kamui

DROPPED - It started off so well with stunning combat scenes, However, as it progressed, the plot pacing struggled to maintain that initial momentum, slowing down considerably and losing that early intensity.

Frieren - Beyond Journeys End

This is a captivating, contemplative anime that offers a refreshing departure from typical action-packed series. This masterfully crafted show follows Frieren, a long-lived elf mage, on her journey to understand human connections after outliving her companions. With its stunning animation and deliberate pacing, Frieren delves deep into themes of mortality, friendship, and life's meaning. The series' emotional depth and nuanced character development create a poignant, thought-provoking experience that lingers long after watching. For viewers craving a beautiful, introspective exploration of life's big questions, Frieren is an absolute must-watch. #masterclass

The Apothecary Dairies

This is a smart, engaging anime that strikes a perfect balance between entertainment and depth. With its well-paced narrative and intriguing characters, the series cleverly avoids the pitfall of relying on deus ex machina solutions. The main character, while brilliantly capable, shows vulnerability and fallibility, adding layers to her appeal. What truly sets this anime apart is its nuanced exploration of women's roles in a historically oppressive setting. The show doesn't just highlight the limited options available to women - slaves, concubines, courtesans - but skillfully portrays how they navigate, cope with, and even thrive within these constraints. This subtle examination of power dynamics, often depicting men as less astute, adds a thought-provoking dimension to the series. The Apothecary Diaries masterfully weaves complex themes into an entertaining package, offering viewers a satisfying blend of mystery, character development, and social commentary. It's a series that entertains on the surface while rewarding deeper reflection, making it a standout in its genre.

The Eminence in Shadow S2

DROPPED - You know that MC who hides his powers and Deus Ex Machina at the last moment saving everyone. Oh and he has a sort of harem, they simp hard for him even when he's a dick to them. ugh

86 Eighty Six

86 dives headfirst into the brutal reality of war, exploring themes of discrimination, sacrifice, and the cost of dehumanization. The story follows young soldiers fighting a seemingly hopeless battle, their struggles made all the more poignant by their shared humanity. While the male protagonist's seemingly endless resilience might feel a bit contrived at times, the overall narrative remains gripping and thought-provoking. If you're prepared for a dark, emotionally charged anime with stunning visuals and a willingness to tackle difficult themes, 86 is well worth your time. Just be prepared for a few plot conveniences along the way.

Barakamon

Barakamon is a delightful slice-of-life anime that proves sometimes the simplest premises can yield the most heartwarming results. Centered around a grumpy, young calligrapher who finds himself reluctantly relocated to a rural island, the series is a masterclass in character development and gentle humor. What sets Barakamon apart is its perfect balance of comedic moments and touching character interactions, all anchored by the endearing dynamic between the initially aloof protagonist and the quirky island inhabitants, especially the irrepressibly energetic local children. The show's strength lies in its ability to portray personal growth in a natural, unforced manner. As the main character slowly warms to island life, viewers are treated to a series of charming, often hilarious encounters that feel genuine and relatable. The beautiful, laid-back rural setting serves as the perfect backdrop for this story of rediscovering one's passion and learning to appreciate life's simple pleasures. Barakamon's art style is vibrant and expressive, perfectly capturing the whimsical nature of the story and its characters. For anyone seeking a feel-good anime that offers laughs, heartwarming moments, and a refreshing take on the "fish out of water" trope, Barakamon is an absolute gem. It's a series that leaves you with a smile on your face and a renewed appreciation for the joy found in everyday interactions.

Bunny Drop

This is a heartwarming and refreshingly mature slice-of-life anime that captures the challenges and joys of unexpected parenthood with remarkable sensitivity. The series centers on the beautiful, evolving relationship between Daikichi, a 30-year-old bachelor, and Rin, the young girl he suddenly finds himself caring for. What sets Bunny Drop apart is its honest, refined portrayal of the ups and downs of child-rearing, avoiding saccharine clichés in favor of genuine emotional depth. The anime excels in its gentle pacing and attention to everyday details, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that draws viewers into Daikichi and Rin's world. The character development is subtle yet profound, showing how both characters grow and learn from each other. The art style, with its soft palette and delicate lines, perfectly complements the tender nature of the story. Bunny Drop offers a unique perspective on family, responsibility, and the transformative power of love and care. It's a must-watch for anyone seeking a touching, realistic portrayal of non-traditional families and the beauty of chosen relationships. The anime stands on its own as a complete and satisfying story, offering a wholesome and uplifting experience that resonates long after the final episode. If you fall in love with this anime you might indeed be better off not exploring the manga beyond the anime's storyline, as it takes some controversial turns that significantly alter the tone and nature of the relationship established in the anime. (You have been warned)

Garren Lagann

Gurren Lagann is a rollercoaster ride that defies expectations at every turn. Initially presenting itself as a classic over-the-top mecha series with shonen tropes, it quickly evolves into something far more complex and ambitious. The show's energy is infectious, with larger-than-life characters and increasingly outrageous action sequences that somehow manage to remain compelling rather than ridiculous. What sets Gurren Lagann apart is its ability to seamlessly blend its bombastic exterior with surprisingly deep themes of human potential, societal evolution, and the nature of progress. The series takes bold narrative risks, delivering emotional gut-punches and mind-bending plot twists that leave viewers reeling. Its unique visual style, memorable characters, and quotable dialogue have solidified its place as a modern anime classic. If you're looking for a series that starts as pure adrenaline-fueled fun but transforms into a thought-provoking epic that pushes the boundaries of its genre, Gurren Lagann is an absolute must-watch.

Link Click

Link Click is a standout anime that cleverly blends time travel, mystery, and character-driven drama into a uniquely compelling package. This Chinese-produced series offers a fresh take on the time travel concept, with its protagonists diving into photographs to solve mysteries and alter the past. What truly sets Link Click apart is its masterful storytelling, weaving intricate plots that keep viewers on the edge of their seats while exploring deep emotional themes. The show strikes an excellent balance between its episodic mysteries and an overarching narrative that grows increasingly complex and engaging. While there are elements of fan service, particularly in its portrayal of idol-like characters, these are handled with relative restraint and don't detract from the core story. The animation is sleek and stylish, complementing the series' modern urban setting. Link Click's ability to blend suspense, emotion, and philosophical questions about the consequences of changing the past makes it a must-watch for anyone seeking a thought-provoking and visually appealing anime experience. Whether you're a fan of time travel stories, character-driven dramas, or just looking for something refreshingly different, Link Click delivers on all fronts.

Oshi No Ko

Oshi No Ko is a captivating anime that defies easy categorization, offering a unique and often dark exploration of the entertainment industry. While it may not seem like a typical choice for many viewers, its complex narrative and well-crafted characters make it a standout series. The show deftly balances its more serious themes - including the darker side of fame, the impact of social media, and the psychological toll of stardom - with moments of levity and genuine emotion. What sets Oshi No Ko apart is its unflinching look at the realities of the idol and entertainment world, wrapped in a plot that's part mystery, part drama, and part supernatural intrigue. The series' ability to tackle heavy subjects while maintaining a compelling storyline is truly impressive. With its stylish presentation, unexpected plot twists, and deep character development, Oshi No Ko offers a refreshingly mature and nuanced viewing experience. For those seeking an anime that goes beyond surface-level entertainment and isn't afraid to delve into the complexities of human nature and societal issues, Oshi No Ko is a compelling and thought-provoking choice.
